Damon has spent his career in transportation. Starting as a driver, he spent 16 years behind the wheel, driving straight trucks and tractor trailers in the beverage, food service, and mail distribution businesses. During this time, he was involved in a fatality accident where another vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the truck his co-driver was driving, while he was in the sleeper berth. The experience of this event had a profound impact on Damon and was the Genesis of what has resulted in the development of this program and this company – Beacon Driving Solutions.

In 2008, he began managing driver operations in mail distribution, and in 2011 became a Regional Transportation Manager focusing on Driver Safety, Training, Compliance, and Fleet Management for sites in the Midwest and Eastern U.S. in Pitney Bowes’ private fleet. In 2019, Damon became their National Safety & Training Manager, creating programs to mitigate risk and improve driver safety metrics, while reducing accident frequency and severity. He left Pitney Bowes in the Fall of 2024, taking the next year to develop and revolutionize professional driver training, through the 3 Beacons and the concept of Intentional Driving.
